Jimmie Lin Final Proposal (Revised)

Final Project Paragraph

For my final project, I want to mimic the style of Corinne Silva (the photographer I focused on for the style assignment), while adding a slight twist to make the images more appealing for myself to go out and photograph. From Corinne’s individual style, I very much appreciate her use of film and the characteristics of her photographs that are apparent due to their square framing. This being said, I would like to add an additional focus to the photography style I will be attempting to execute for this assignment (in addition to photographing in square frames)–this being only using a 50mm focal length for all my photos. This allows me to create more consistency throughout my photo collection and will also allow me to focus on implementing a focus on the textures of the subjects I will be photographing. I am interested in photographing in this style, because I think with the restrictions of only photographing in square frames, along with restricting my usable focal length to only 50mm, I can focus on the actual content of the photograph more heavily and look deeping into creative ways to implement textures As for the subject of my photographs, I want to stick with the theme of landscapes in nature and subjects in nature that describe the setting they are a part of (trees, plants, barns, hay bales, rocks, flowers, etc.) just as I have done so in the style project.
In order to continue making work for multiple weeks, I will set aside time every weekend to photograph 10-15 images usable images (images that I deem good enough to print), until the assignment is over and I have the final collection of images I’m comfortable printing on the large scale printers. My expected outcome of this project, is to create a full collection of images that align with one another in both subject matter, layout, and color, so that it may seem pleasing to a viewer's eye to see them all together.
