Ashley Murch- Proposal

For my final projects I want to take pictures of people. Not just casual portraits, during the summer when I did my self portrait, and created a collage of myself containing 9 square images of different part of my body, I want to recreate this with all different people. I think the picture represents a deeper meaning of insecurity, self love, and body positivity. All the things are highly relevant to me and I feel everyone. Especially in college, it is super easy to compare yourself to others. For my final, I want to photograph all different types of people. All different sizes, shapes, colors, genders etc. Before I start taking extremely close pictures of people, I want to sit down when them and find out how they feel about different parts of their body. I first thought to use all the same body parts for everyone, but that would not fit my deeper meaning behind it. I want the collage to be a puzzle of the own persons thoughts, meaning, a mix of parts of their body they love, and parts they hate. I want it to be a very personal piece, and I want each to stand on it own, but when you see them all together you feel the connection between them all, as well as the viewer to be part of that connection of love and hate of their body.
